The exhibition at the Quirinal Stables, presents the entire artistic career of Frida Kahlo bringing together the masterpieces of the main collections, public and private, from Mexico, Europe and the United States. Over 40 works of art, including the famous “Self-portrait with thorn necklace and hummingbird”, for the first time exhibited in Italy in 1940, or the “Self-portrait in a velvet dress” painted in the 1926 when she was just 19.

A selection of drawings complete the project, including a sketch of his 1932 painting “Henry Ford Hospital”, and the famous plaster corset used to held the artist constrained in the last few difficult years of her illness and that the she decorated with a series of painted symbols. The exhibition recalls the colors of the works, making homogeneous the entire path.
